Work Experience

Work Experience

Workplace learning is seen as a valuable activity to help support students career decision making into the future. Specifically, work experience is compulsory for all Year 10 students once per year for one week, usually early in December. Year 10 students participate in lessons around organising their work experience and all neccessary details and associated documents can be found on the Year 10 Google Classroom. Students from Years 9 and upwards can also make a request to the Careers Advisor to participate in work experience at other times.

The following documents provide further information about Workplace Learning which applies to Year 10 Work Experience, and VET (Vocational Education and Training) Work Placement for Year 11 and 12 students who are studying a VET subject as part of their HSC.

The Work Experience Directory may be a helpful link to find a host employer, however, contacting bussinesses either in person (face-to-face), email or phone contact usually achieves success.
